Paul Johnson Drywall announces its support as a trade partner. PHOENIX, ARIZONA (June 1, 2022) – Paul Johnson Drywall, Inc. (PJD) is proud to support the PulteGroup Build to Honor Home program, which provides mortgage-free homes to deserving and wounded veterans across our country. Paul Johnson Drywall is one of the program’s supporting trade partners. The organization recently built its 74th home in the program since 2011. Over the years, the Arizona Division has delivered two Built to Honor homes – one in Desert Oasis in Surprise, and one in Red Rock, outside of Tucson. Arizona was one of the first to take part in the program, delivering Built To Honor homes in 2014 and 2016. This year it has partnered with Building Homes for Heroes and is building its third Built to Honor home, this one in the Town of Maricopa, for Sgt. William McCoy and his family. Their new home will be located at Santa Rosa Crossing. The official ground breaking was April 13. “We’re honored to be a part of this great organization and thrilled to be a part of the McCoy’s new home,” said Paul Johnson Drywall President Cole Johnson. “The framing of the McCoy’s new home is set for July. Our team will be there alongside many other supporting trade partners that PulteGroup has assembled.” Sgt. McCoy met his wife, Linda, after he was medically retired from the U.S. Army. Their son, Solomon, is 9. The family currently lives in North Phoenix but would is moving to Maricopa so he is closer to Veterans Administration services in the East Valley. The home dedication is scheduled for later this year when the McCoys will be presented the keys to their mortgage-free home.
Sgt. McCoy remains connected to many veterans and maintains longstanding friendships with his fellow infantrymen. He joined the U.S. Army in 1999 and served over 9 years before he was medically retired in 2009. He suffered a back injury after he was dropped by parachute into powerlines. He also received injuries serving two combat tours in Iraq and one combat tour in Afghanistan. Sgt. McCoy is 100 percent disabled and challenged with his injuries. Building Homes for Heroes, Inc. is a 501-3 tax exempt organization. For more information visit pultegroupcares.com/built-to-honor.
