PJD Employee Coronavirus Protocol

At PJD, the health and safety of our employees, their families and our customers is always our priority. During this challenging time, PJD’s goal is to be here for you and to help you navigate thru the known stress and the uncertainty.

We strongly encourage all employees to protect themselves and others by continuing to follow CDC and healthcare expert's recommendations to combat the transmission of the virus. These precautions include:

PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF DISEASE IN AND OUT OF THE WORKPLACE

The best preventative measures against this virus include:
  • Washing your hands OFTEN with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid close contact with people; especially groups and those who are high risk or may be sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, be sure to throw the tissue in the trash immediately.
  • Wipe down surfaces with approved antiviral wipes and cleaners.
  • PJD has masks available and asks that all workers consider wearing them.

SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, THE CORONAVIRUS
Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure:
  • Fever (100.4° F and higher)
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

IF YOU ARE SICK
Notify your supervisor if you are sick with COVID19 or suspect you are infected and stay home if you are sick. You should not share personal household items with anyone. Be sure to clean all “high-touch” surfaces in your home.

It is critical that you seek medical care. Here's how:

Whether you have or have not signed up for Redirect Health, they will help you and your family members. Just mention that you work with Paul Johnson Drywall when you call or text Redirect Health at 888-407-7928 or use the app when you are feeling ill.

Redirect will help instruct and guide you through all next steps. Most times this will only require a short phone call. If you have flu symptoms and require a prescription, it will normally be about $25 when we order it. And, if you ever need to move through our system faster or feel you need some special expertise or help, then www.redirecthealth.com/extrahelp is the place to go.

SAFETY First

At Paul Johnson Drywall, our number one priority is safety. And, since a culture of safety begins with company leadership, our president Robert "Cole" Johnson is invested in ensuring a safe work environment as a member of the International Code Council, which is dedicated to protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public by making buildings safer.

PJD prides itself on having a comprehensive safety program, called Safety First, which follows all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations, and includes training for every employee as well as daily job-site safety training.

We've partnered with safety and compliance expert, Wayne Carroll, president of Insure Compliance, to monitor the ever-changing workforce culture and ensure PJD provides a safety-oriented environment and assists with risk management and safety compliance.  Wayne has over 25 years of experience in insurance, risk management and loss control as well as 15 years safety consulting.  He helps teach businesses how to reduce exposure, become compliant and most important to be safe.  Wayne sits on the board of the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and was President in 2014-2015. He is an OSHA authorized trainer with a Master’s of Science in education and training.

With Wayne's help, PJD developed Safety First, and continues to foster a culture of safety among our crews on every job site. Here's how:

Employees participate in a safety training program that covers the following:
  • 10-hour OSHA safety training, which provides a safety certification upon successful completion.
  • 30-hour OSHA safety certification program for supervisors
  • Fall protection
  • Job-site safety
  • Safety equipment requirements
  • Hazardous materials identification
  • Compliance with the acquisition and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets
  • Implementation of accurate labeling procedures
  • Heat illness prevention

In addition, each of our projects has a designated safety coordinator who establishes and enforces compliance by inspecting the job site and verifying employee compliance or immediately addressing issues when any are identified.

Each safety coordinator, foreman and supervisor model the inspection practices of the state in which we are operating and ensuring compliance. This includes internal inspections and reviewing sites for potential hazards, and remedy to issues before an injury occurs.

Our Safety First program helps to ensure our employees are safe and comfortable, which helps us to efficiently complete our customer’s projects.

If you have questions about any of our policies, please call our office or email us: Info@PaulJohnsonDrywall.com.
