PJD remains the only drywall contractor from Arizona and Nevada to earn a position on the elite list. PHOENIX (September 18, 2019) — Paul Johnson Drywall, Inc. (PJD) is pleased to announce that the firm was again named a Top 50 Contractor for 2019 by Walls & Ceilings Magazine. This marks the fifth consecutive year for PJD to be named as an industry leader to the national list. In addition, PJD remains the only drywall contractor with operations in Arizona and Nevada to make the list (businesses are listed alphabetically). The list features contractors identified by Walls & Ceilings Magazine as the industry’s most progressive and resourceful contractors. Each of the “Top 50 Contractors” are noted for displaying numerous skillsets that warrant them among the best, noting that “what makes these companies excellent is their thirst to stay progressive and relevant.” The Top Drywall Contractors also demonstrate success in employing new technology, actively seeking new products, providing competitive employment opportunities and unparalleled safety cultures, among other distinguishing factors. Walls & Ceilings Magazine “Top 50 Contractors” are recognized for their talent in sustaining their business model and serving as industry leaders.
PJD continues to experience steady high-quality growth in Arizona and Nevada, generating installation revenue of nearly $70 million split between residential and commercial drywall projects. The firm’s Good Jobs Strategy was integral in earning the recognition. PJD’s Good Jobs Strategy includes providing exceptional employee benefits to every employee, including craft workers, crew leaders and administrative staff. This includes all employees (craft workers, crew leaders and administrative staff) having W-2 status as well as the following benefits, which begin on the first day of employment: paid vacation, Redirect healthcare for employee and family, home-buying assistance, career and professional advancement, education program reimbursement and top-wages, which typically exceed prevailing wages in all categories. The Good Jobs Strategy has also established PJD as the employer of choice and as a leader in the construction industry. “Earning this honor for the fifth consecutive year reinforces that the significant effort we’ve put towards establishing and continually building upon our Good Jobs Strategy is appreciated by the industry,” said Robert ‘Cole’ Johnson, president of PJD. “We committed to raising the bar for workers in the drywall industry and hope others will follow suit. Our customers appreciate our efforts as do our employees. PJD will continue to strive to serve as a national model.” Walls & Ceilings magazine is a bi-monthly publication reaching an audience of more than 30,000 industry professionals, including interior or exterior wall and ceiling contractors, architects, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.
