The list includes contractors identified by Walls & Ceilings Magazine as the industry’s most progressive and resourceful contractors.

PJD began building homes in Arizona in 1967, teaming up with legendary Phoenix developer John F. Long. This partnership resulted in the construction of more than 33,000 homes in West Phoenix, creating the community of Maryvale. Throughout the past five decades, PJD has continued to form partnerships with the most successful single-family and multi-family builders in the southwest, developing winning communities across the region.

​PHOENIX (February 27, 2017) – Paul Johnson Drywall, a locally-owned specialty contractor, finished 2016 with a stellar safety record of 1,170,702 work hours with zero away from work days. 

​In 2014, Paul Johnson Drywall began implementing its most comprehensive safety program to date, “Safety First.” The program not only follows all OSHA standards and regulations, it also includes additional fall-protection and scaffolding training for every employee, daily job-site safety training, and regular job site safety inspections of the scaffolding equipment and crew environment and practices by the firm’s designated safety supervisors. 

PHOENIX (February 6, 2017) — Paul Johnson Drywall, Inc. (PJD) has hired Leslie Graham as the firm’s new controller.  Ms. Graham will be responsible for managing the accounting department, as well as providing support to all departments at Paul Johnson Drywall.

​PHOENIX (November 4, 2016) — Paul Johnson Drywall, Inc. (PJD) is pleased to announce that the company was named to the Phoenix Business Journal’s 2016 Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) List of the Top 50 Privately-Held Companies in Arizona.  PJD earned position #30, based upon the company’s revenue, marking the firm’s first year to make the prestigious list. In addition, the company president Cole Johnson received special recognition as “Rookie of the Year,” a special honor given to one company that stands out above all others being named to the ACE list for the first time. 

​PHOENIX  (February 29, 2016) -- Paul Johnson Drywall Inc., one of the largest drywall contractors in the Southwestern United States, announced that the firm has hired 112 new and approximately 100 returning workers since January 1, 2016. Crews are being actively recruited for the firm’s Arizona and Nevada markets, where construction activity continues to grow, including some market segments returning to pre-recession levels. Adding these new employees has increased the firm’s permanent full time-crews in Phoenix by more than 20 percent.
