Position: Drywall Taper
  • Seal joints between plasterboard or other wallboard on ceilings and/or interior walls to prepare surface for painting or papering, and loading and unloading materials. Lifting required up to 50lbs
  • On the job training. No education required. 3 months experience required.
  • Range of pay from $16.97/hr. or up to $0.09/sq. ft. of drywall taped or $0.0225/sq. ft. of drywall textured, whichever is greater. Additionally we will pay all overtime premium as required by law.
  • Work week is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day (work start and end times are subject to change based on season and customer needs). Work on the weekend may be available at PJD discretion.

​Position: Drywall Installer
  • Apply plasterboard or other wallboard to ceilings and/or interior walls, and loading and unloading materials. Lifting required up to 50lbs.
  • On the job training. No education required. 3 months experience required.
  • Range of pay from $17.74/hr. or up to $0.09/sq. ft. of drywall installed per person, whichever is greater. Additionally we will pay all overtime premium as required by law.
  • Work week is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day (work start and end times are subject to change based on season and customer needs). Work on the weekends may be available at PJD discretion.​

Position: Drywall Finisher/Repairer 
​The position requires:
  • a minimum of three years experience
  • a reliable form of transportation.

The ideal candidate will also have all tools necessary for the job. There will be travel throughout the valley as needed on a daily basis.

Position: Construction Cost Estimator
Reports to: Cole Johnson, CEO
Department: Estimating

Responsible for preparing estimates for a building project and working to help ensure that Paul Johnson Drywall, Inc. (“PJD”) runs effectively and efficiently. Responsible for calculating the total cost of a building to PJD. Will identify costs of elements such as raw materials and labor, and may set a timeline for how long is expected the project to take. May work directly with the contractors and engineers. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates.
  • Suggest ways to reduce labor costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits.
  • Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clients.
  • Maintain records of estimated and actual costs.
  • Accurately estimating the costs of construction and manufacturing projects is vital to the survival of PJD’s business.
  • Provide managers with the information they need in order to submit competitive contract bids or price products appropriately.
  • Analyze production processes to determine how much time, money, and labor a project needs. The estimates account for many factors, including allowances for wasted material, bad weather, shipping delays, and other variables that can increase costs and lower profitability.
  • Make recommendations and advise on issues and budget and various other matters related to maintaining and improving overall administration and help PJD plan cost of doing business.
  • Use software that PJD has in place to simulate the construction process and evaluate the effects of design choices, and will often consult databases to compare the costs of similar projects.
  • Consider and evaluate different construction and manufacturing methods and options to determine the most cost-effective solution that meets the required specifications.
  • Must pay attention to details, as minor changes can significantly affect the overall cost of a project or product.
  • Will often work on fixed deadlines, so must be able to plan work in advance and work efficiently and accurately.
  • Will write comprehensive reports, which often help managers make production decisions.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
  • Any other task or project as assigned.

​Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics Required:
  • Ability to calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates.
  • Ability to be able to identify issues in documentation and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to analyze, compare, and interpret facts and figures, complex math skills are necessary.
  • Ability to listen carefully to facts and concerns from managers and others and must be able to discuss the results of work in both meetings and written reports.
  • Ability to pay attention to details when compiling and examining documentation.
  • Ability to independently make decisions regarding both short-term and long-term department projects and assignment of appropriate personnel to those projects.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to analyze and independently resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to accurately and succinctly communicate with employees and managers both in writing and orally.  
  • Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with all employees and managers of the PJD.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, diplomacy and tact in all situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain emotional composure under stress.
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and events.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding highly sensitive information, records and reports.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in an industry-related field, such as construction management, building science, or engineering.
  • A strong background in mathematics is essential.
  • A four-year degree in one of the above fields may be substituted for twelve years of the required experience.
Employment Classification: Full-time salaried non-exempt. Includes Paid Time Off (PTO).
